Egg: The large size and yellow-amber oil globule, with a pink sheen on the larva within the egg, distinguish this egg. The egg was noted to be sticky and yolk segmentation indistinct, possibly absent. The egg was collected at about 2pm on 16 February 2012. Photograph A was taken at 11pm on the 18th.
Larva: The egg hatched about 70 hours after collection (B), with the oil globule tending towards the rear of the yolk sac (see also LIA6). The 3-day larva (C & C1) has blue metallic spots dorsally from nape to the base of the caudal finfold. Figure C1 is a dorsal view.
This egg has only been recognised once, collected on the date given above. The barcode matches Remora australis in BOLD.
